"The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any"

What is Coaching

"Colin was instrumental in my identifying and achieving goals that had not been clear to me before we started working together."

Coaching is a collaborative process that helps you bridge the gap between where you are now and where you'd like to be. Coaching can remove any obstacles that stand in the way of you achieving your full potential.

It can be used to help your understanding of a specific issue or area of development or to reach a specific goal.

Coaching takes a non-directive approach and is designed to support you to find your own solutions. A coach is not there to advise you but instead to create a productive, focused time and space that will support you to explore your own thinking. You will be gently encouraged to create practical, step-by-step actions to reach your goals.

I invite you to try the power of coaching for yourself. I believe that it has the potential to empower you to become who you truly want to be.

What you can expect

"I found Colin to be empathic, having a naturally supportive, yet 'light' manner,

when touching on some of the emotional and psychological complexities of being a creative artist."

Each session lasts for an hour and takes the form of structured conversation. My role is to create a safe supportive environment, a thinking space, where you can explore and reflect on any issues you have. I will use a range of techniques, to help you, including active listening, reflection and skilled questioning. You will leave each session with a feeling of being ‘unstuck’ and with a clear understanding of what you need to do to reach your next goal.

Coaching can be helpful for:

  • Finding direction, becoming more focused and reaching your potential

  • Facilitating career changes or diversification

  • Challenging and breaking repeat patterns in work and/or life

  • Improving interpersonal and professional communication

  • Increasing insight, self-awareness, confidence and resilience

  • Improving time management and improving motivation

Your coaching sessions can take place at Spike Island studio in Bristol or in a quiet location such as a cafe. I am also able to offer coaching sessions virtually using Skype.
